The Farm-to-School program began as a partnership among the Madison-Morgan Conservancy, Kelly Products, Inc., and Morgan County Schools in 2014. On May 13th, 2014, students in the middle school were served Verner Burgers for lunch for the first phase of the pilot farm-to-school program. In 2017, the program began to build capacity, and began to procure and serve more local food in the school system. Students enjoyed local peaches from CJ Orchards, local strawberries, and a host of other local ingredients.
