Wayside Farm Conservation Easement

The Conservancy is honored to be the recipient of the following awards:

2023 Outstanding Preservation Leadership: Presented by the City of Madison’s Historic Preservation Commission for Enduring Support of Madison’s Architectural Heritage.

2022 Preservation Award for Excellence in Intervention: Presented by the City of Madison’s Historic Preservation Commission for saving the Richter Cotton Seed Warehouse at 137 S. First Street in Downtown Madison.  Through its Endangered Properties Revolving Fund, the Conservancy purchased and rehabilitated the building into office space after the property was vacant and suffering demolition by neglect for over a decade.

2019 Governor’s Award for the Arts & Humanities: Presented by Governor and Mrs. Kemp for “humanities and historic preservation,” recognizing twenty years of preservation service and most recently the establishment of the Junior Conservancy and Endangered Properties Revolving Fund.

2018 Outstanding Preservation Leadership Award: Presented by the City of Madison’s Historic Preservation Commission for providing leadership for the preservation of history and historic resources in Madison and for recent initiatives such as establishing the Junior Conservancy and the Endangered Properties Revolving Fund.

2015 everGreen Award: Presented by the City of Madison’s Greenspace Commission for excellence in public awareness for the city’s TDR Program.

2013 everGreen Award: Presented by the City of Madison’s Greenspace Commission for 1) Washington Park Playground, and 2) the Teaching Garden at Morgan County Elementary School.

2012 State Preservation Award: Awarded by the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation to our partner Wallace Grove Baptist Church for Excellence in Restoration for the restoration of the 1901 Wallace Grove School.

2011 State Preservation Award: Presented by the Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation for Excellence in Preservation Service.

2010 Preservation Excellence Award: Presented by the City of Madison’s Historic Preservation Commission for Outstanding Heritage Education for the 2009 Greenprint Ramble.

2009 everGreen Award: Presented by the City of Madison’s Greenspace Commission for excellence in Public Awareness for the 2008 Sustainability Expo.

2008 everGreen Award: Presented by the City of Madison’s Greenspace Commission for excellence in education for the 2007 Greenprint Ramble.
